Lanchester Methodist Church

- a family friendly church

 Welcome from the Minister

Welcome to Lanchester Methodist Church!

The Church is a family of all ages and we try to make everyone part of the family.  We hope to express something of the welcome and   acceptance that God shows to us, in loving us into His family in through Jesus.

We have a variety of activities for young and not so young.  These take place in the Church building on Front Street or at the premises at Croft View, or in people’s homes.

We hope that you will feel really welcome among us, and that among the many groups and activities that take place there may be something that is helpful to you. We pray that you will soon feel ‘at home’ with us.

As a Methodist Church we are part of a 'circuit' which includes 9 other Methodist churches in the Stanley area, and together we seek to serve the area in worship and mission.  We are also part of the wider Methodist Church across the world.

Having taken a decision to become a more ‘Family Friendly’ church a few years ago, the number of young families has been increasing. At Sunday morning worship (at 10.30am) our congregation is a lively mix of young and old.  There are group activities for the children and young people, and a crèche provided for under 3's during the service, run by members of the congregation.
The fourth Sunday morning each month is our All Age Worship service, when we all stay together for a lively service designed to benefit all ages, and especially geared towards the children. Services on the second and fourth Sunday mornings each month have a more contemporary style with our Music Group leading the singing. Coffee is served after all morning services.

Our Sunday evening services (6pm) are generally quieter and more reflective, and a contrasting complement to the morning services.
Communion is usually held once a month during either the morning or evening service.

Everyone is welcome to come and share with us at any of the services.  You are also welcome to join us at any of our activities, most of which you can read something about on this website.wpfd961b81.png
