Groups and activities Brief description
Wives and Friends Our mission is to offer friendship and fellowship to all women who attend our group meetings. These are held monthly on the first Wednesday of each month from 1:30 to 3:30.
Coffee Mornings Coffee mornings are held every Saturday morning from 10am until 12 noon. They are held for a different cause every week, for example: charities, church groups. Each is slightly different to the other, some offering home-baked cakes, or bacon butties, or bric-a-brac.
Open Church The church is open every Monday and Thursday morning 9 until 11:30am. Everyone from the village welcome.
Men's meditation This group meets on the second Thursday of the month at Lanchester Social Club at 8:00pm for relaxation, recreation and fun.
Ladies' PMT The ladies meet in Lanchester Social Club on the first Thursday of each month to 8:00pm for an evening of relaxation and fun.
Indoor Bowls Every Friday afternoon at Croft View Halls. 1:30 - 3:30pm. The indoor bowling group is open to everyone and a small charge is made to cover refreshments and the use of the facilities. Usually about 20 men and women enjoy a happy time of fun and fellowship. Darts, pool and dominoes are available as well as bowls.
Mid-week walking group The whole-village group meets fortnightly (weather permitting) and we aim to walk 3 to 5 miles. Walks are either local or further afield and could include coffee stops or lunch breaks depending on where we are. We leave from Chapel at about 10am. For further information please contact info@lanchestermethodistchurch.org.uk
Flower Group A group of church members undertake the weekly flower arrangements in the church.
Cell Groups We have a series of cell groups which meet at various times during the week. Each group studies the same materials so, if you cannot attend the same one each week, you can join another one that week.
Crafty Coffee ‘Crafty Coffee Morning’ will be held at Church every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 10am – 12noon beginning on April 24th. The vision and aim of this gathering is to reach out to anyone in the local area who is feeling anxious, isolated or lonely. Come along and knit for charity, learn a new craft, tuition available.
Summer Special Fun activities for primary school children for one week in August
