Welcome from the minister

It’s a privilege to have been minister here at Lanchester since 2014. It’s a great place to live, and a great church to serve, with some lovely, good-hearted and Jesus-centred people.

We try to be a welcoming church and hope that we offer something which will meet the needs of most people. We are an all-age church family, as you will see if you browse further at our groups and programmes. What you may not catch, however, from the website is the generosity of spirit with which the activities and projects are run. We livestream our Sunday worship and are developing relationships with our online congregation as well as those we meet in the chapel itself.

We are called to be at the hub of the village’s life and are keen to engage with people in whatever circumstances they find themselves, and to respond to their needs. We have started a “Warm Space” to help people feeling cold and lonely during the harshness of this cost of living crisis.

We do our best to give God worship which has quality and passion, to learn more about what it means to be a follower of Jesus, to serve the community and point people to Jesus. We hope you may consider getting in touch and finding out more. We would love to hear from you.
